A stronger foundation for study
Study Library and focused writing
Notes, Journal, Highlights, and Documents share one Study Library with four distinct views. Journal Books, recent activity, search, contextual filters, and related study links help organize material. Notes and Journal open in focused rich-writing views that preserve images and Scripture references.
Scribe and document preparation
Scribe provides a dedicated writing window with a creative canvas and Document Builder for standalone documents. Formatting, controlled local images, structured templates, Scripture references, reading order, and full output previews are implemented. Word and PDF output have engineering verification, including Word edit, save, and reopen checks.
Save, recovery, Return, and close decisions distinguish confirmed saved work from writing still in progress. Interactive and physical printing acceptance remains open.
Local storage and offline Scripture
The development application now uses a local SQLite foundation for personal content, with verified transactional saves, recovery, and .selahpack backup round trips. A separate offline Scripture foundation supports verified editions in the Bible Reader and Discover, with explicit edition verification, repair, removal, and restore controls.
Offline availability depends on each edition’s authorized source and distribution rights. YouVersion access remains separate; topic and text search still require online services. Personal backups do not include offline Bible databases or provider credentials.
An independent Calendar
Calendar events, stickies, pins, and reminder intentions are implemented independently of Notes. A bounded Windows development trial verified OS-managed reminder delivery after MySelah and its helper had fully exited. Normal and packaged reminder delivery remain disabled while installation, activation, settings, and platform acceptance continue.
A more consistent interface
The October Windows modernization pass covers main navigation, Study Library, Scribe, customization, Profile, Discover, Media, Calendar, and shared Bible Reader controls. It brings clearer hierarchy and grouped actions while preserving personal workspace customization and the original ownership of writing.
Acceptance still ahead
From engineering to release readiness
Automated checks and actual Windows application journeys provide engineering evidence. They do not complete the remaining platform and human review.
- Installed Windows continuity, upgrade and recovery behavior, and production notification identity and activation.
- Native macOS execution, packaging, signing, platform behavior, and reminder integration.
- Human accessibility and extended writing comfort, physical touch and pen, input methods, and display scaling.
- Live connected services, interactive and physical printing, and translation-specific distribution checks.
Future direction · No dates announced
What comes next
Core functionality and its verification come before final visual refinement and release validation.
- Complete remaining native reminder and platform acceptance on the primary Windows and macOS development targets.
- Develop selective
.selahpagefile portability, with explicit review of included content..selahpackremains the full-environment backup format. - Further visual refinement and contextual introductions after the core work is verified.
macOS is not offered as a public download. Linux remains a later direction, without a release date or broad distribution-support promise. Selective portability does not announce cloud synchronization or collaborative editing.
This update reflects the October 2026 development checkpoints. Scope may change as acceptance identifies further work. For the application available today, see the Windows 1.2 release above and the released feature guide.
